Girolamo Frescobaldi (1583–1644) was an Italian organist and composer. He has left us with numerous vocal compositions (he owed his first reputation to his beautiful voice), including canzoni, motets and hymns. His work for the organ shows great ability in the art of the fugue. (M 39657) _ _.
