Named in memory of Henri Joseph Anastase Perrotin (1845–1904), the first director of the Nice Observatory and discoverer of (252) Clementina, the first minor planet found there. While working at Toulouse he had previously discovered five other minor planets and developed a precise theory of the motion of (4) Vesta. (M 4358) _ _.
