This minor planet honors the discoverer’s mother, Cordelia Zahller Luginbuhl (1927–2001), and the Zahller family. This family was established in the U.S. in 1791 by her great-great grandfather Joseph Zahller (1758– ) when he emigrated from Canton Bern, Switzerland, to settle in Butler County, Pennsylvania.
