Named for another of the three towns to which the Kiso Station administratively belongs. Although in Roman characters the name is very similar to that of Mitaka, the town in which the Tokyo Observatory’s headquarters are located, the names are very different when written in Japanese characters. The endings “take” and “taka” mean mountain and hawk, respectively. (M 8914) _ _.
