José Roberto Manzano (1928-1999) took part in almost all the cosmic radiation projects developed in Argentina in the 1960s and was the initiator of ionospheric studies in the country. A researcher at the Argentinian Commission of Atomic Energy, he was also a visiting professor at the University of Minnesota.
