Ken-ichi Kadota (b. 1961) is a computer engineer and renowned amateur astronomer in Ageo, Saitama prefecture. He is well known for observing comets, often when they are low in the sky and difficult to detect. In November 2000 he discovered the new component E of comet 73P. The name was suggested by K. Muraoka.
