Miklós Ybl (1814-1891) was one of Hungary's most influential architects. His most well-known work is the Hungarian State Opera House in Budapest. Many of his buildings became determining elements of the layout of the city, including Saint Stephen's Basilica, Palace of Customs and a wing of the Royal Palace.
