Valery Shuvalov (b. 1952) is the laboratory head at the Institute for Dynamics of Geospheres of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. An expert in the mathematical modeling of impact craters, he contributed to the physical understanding the Chelyabinsk airburst.
