Elvira Checa Peña (b. 1958) worked from 2008 until 2014 as a chef at the Spanish Calar Alto Observatory. Through her culinary skills she contributed significantly to the well-being of her fellow colleagues, visiting astronomers and the discoverer of this asteroid. She and her food are dearly missed.
