Geologist Robert S. Verish (b. 1947), an engineering contractor for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, is an experienced meteor observer and meteorite-recovery expert. He has found over 100 meteorites in California, Nevada and Arizona, including the “Los Angeles” shergottite---the fourteenth recognized meteorite from Mars.
